Walter Earl ''Butch'' Daniel

Walter Earl ''Butch'' Daniel, 56, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday August 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Butch, a native of Mecklinburg County Virginia, was the son of the late Linwood Wilson Daniel and his mother Frances Writtenberry Kidd and his step-father, Thomas Kidd. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy ''Timmy'' Daniel and two brothers Donald ''Buck'' Kidd and Wallace Kidd.
He was employed with LaBrecque Logging. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was the president of Daniel Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sherry Williams Daniel; his sisters, Emma Scriber of LaCrosse, Va., Sandra Murray and her husband, Michael, of Henderson, NC, and Seretha Williams and her husband, Philip, of Henderson, NC; brother, Kelvin Kidd of Gasburg, Va.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and one very special niece close to his heart, Natalie Williams.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Russ Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
